Experimenting with and within our art is a process of learning if you are 4 years or even 60 years old, like me. It’s how we learn and how we grow. It’s foundational.
Eleven months since kitchen demo day and I declare this new kitchen as finished! There are few existing architectural details in a 1959 ranch home yet we did well preserving the 1959 vibe of the house. We kept the finishes simple and sleek but not so sleek as to take away from the warmth of the old oak floors and old brick fireplace wall. I think we did well bridging from 1959 to present day.
This week it was about curtains for the kitchen sliding door. And some living room shelves. And a heart of gratitude for this canvas we call our little house on the hill.
I didn’t know quite what to do with this week’s Monday. I was a little off kilter, slightly directionless and more than a little giddy about the sunshine. No doubt I walked in circles from kitchen to living through dining and back again as I waited for something to just catch hold of me.

Plan was that once we had the cabinet delivery date we’d back up two weeks from there and start the demo. The main bath would be completed during those two weeks. Scratch that plan!
Coffee, a sandwich, some S-bucks tunes and the loo. I feel like a much nicer lady now.
