We went thrifting on a gorgeous March afternoon. Once home, Bigs worked outside on our thrift finds while I took a look through the ‘fridge to come up with a plan for dinner. I wanted a hearty salad and some meat for the grill. I came up with a salad recipe to satisfy my want of uber-carb macaroni without going “there” in this Green Bean Salad with Pasta, Apple and Pecans. And it’s gluten-free.

Adapted from my 1975 Crockery Cookery cookbook, this recipe combines sweet canned peaches with a bit of chopped Adobo peppers in sauce for a slow-braised-pork-little-bit-of-sunshine on a cold winter night.
