The first two? I have those covered. I suck at the third rule which is why I made it a rule in the first place. I even wrote a piece about it to cement the idea into my memory. The fourth and final rule is golden. Follow that one if nothing else. Easy meals rule.
The food scene in Columbus appeals .. fresh, ethnic, farm to table, farm markets and food trucks. We have butchers who sell cuts that most people have long forgotten.
Remember that TV ad with the fifties-style family sitting around the table, momma in her dress, heels and pearls, daddy in his suit, kiddos looking all rosy-cheeked oogling the sticks of butter melting down into every dish on the dinner table? Bruce says his mom’s dinner table looked like that.
Butter, salt, sugar. Margarine, fake sweeteners, artificial dairy creamer…it’s how lots of us grew up. Ewwww, Kool Aid? Not any more, not for me. Those things really do make me feel sluggish, make my joints ache, upset my stomach. I really need to pay attention to what I eat. Sugar, margarine, preservatives, cow dairy products.. out you go! Same with white wheat products and that includes my favorite almond croissants from LaChatelaine. cries a little
That all sounds pretty fancy. It’s a goal.
